Tail-lift Maintenance Motor Vehicle lifts and tail-lifts fall under the ‘Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998’ (LOLER) – which places a duty on the operator to ensure that all lifts are fit for purpose, appropriate to the task and subject to periodic ‘thorough examination’.
At RDH we have recently updated our engineers training on Commercial and Passenger Lifts, registering their competency in the repair and maintenance of lifts, and in addition taking a course dedicated to the Ratcliff Palfinger RUL and RTP series lifts.
We continue to do tail-lift servicing, but we can now also offer certified weight testing and the annual LOLER thorough examination. We can help you schedule your tail-lift maintenance to give peace of mind that your vehicle lifts are safe and LOLER compliant.
A service, weight test and LOLER done together will take approx. 2 hours.
A weight test and LOLER together will take approx. 1.5 hours.
A passenger lift requires a weight test every 6 months, and a LOLER annually.
Did you know that if your tail-lift carries the operator, it is classed as a passenger lift and therefore falls under passenger lift legislation, even it is on a delivery vehicle.
Don’t wait for your insurance company to ask for lift records following an accident – get it tested.
